The Wedding Day
Make sure your photographer is aware of the activities taking place and the specifics. For example, if you are getting dressed at the Hilton, and getting married at the church, and the reception is at the hall, make sure that your photographer has an exact itinerary of the day and is aware of all the specific shots you want him/her to take. Also: Make sure they are appropriately dressed so they blend in with your guest and seem less intrusive.
After your big day
You should receive your proofs about 2-4 weeks after your day. Many photographers offer an online album for your family and friends to purchase pictures. This is also usually available within a month after the big day.
You should receive your album 10-14 weeks after your big day, depending on your photographer. What also needs to be taken into consideration when estimating how long your album will take is how long bride and groom take to pick out their proofs and decide what they want and where etc. You would be surprised how many couples get the proofs and "forget" about them for awhile. So if you want your albums in a timely manner, make sure you get your requests back to your photographer in a timely fashion. And stay on them! Photographers (successful ones anyway) do at least 4-5 weddings/events a month... So be forgiving if its taking a little longer than expected.
REFERRALS
If you and your photographer had a great repoire, and the service was great, your pictures came out great, remember to REFER your photographer anytime someone you may know is looking for one. Many photographers work off word of mouth, and its always nice to get a new referral! Keep them in mind for family photography, birthday parties, any and all events, I'm positive they will appreciate the business.
